Pulaski High School
The project was a photo mural that consisted of self portraits. I set-up a photo booth and had each student pose with and without props. The props were used to help them express who they were.
After the film was developed they printed their own images in the darkroom. There were two steps to this process. One was to have a good 8x10 print of themselves. The second part was to take the other image and transfer it onto fabric, with a blending pen. The fabric was banner length to be hung up in the halls overhead. The other photos were displayed in the library. The students seemed to really get into this project (ok not all of them, it is school after all).
It was a really satisfying experience for me. I enjoyed getting to know them and a little bit about their lives. Thanks to Megan O'Connell, photography teacher and Diana Mehail, teaching assistant in guiding me through.
