It’s peak photo shoot season! Get your portraits scheduled today!

Senior Portraits

The best season for golden hour is here, and the time to get your senior photos scheduled is now!

Photographs of young people should feel authentic—not like someone standing in a weird pose in a field, wearing something they’d never normally wear.

I’m here to make sure senior portraits and kid sessions are the total opposite of awkward. This is their time to shine, and their moment to celebrate everything that makes them unique.

Kids of all ages are welcome to bring their skateboard, guitar, dog, favorite hoodie—whatever makes them feel most comfortable.

Dress it up or keep it casual. Everything about this experience is their call. They’re in the driver’s seat, and I’m just along for the ride with a camera (and some pretty great location ideas).

Pet Portraits

Your pet isn’t just a pet. They’re your sidekick, emotional support, adventure buddy, and they always steal your heart. They’ve been with you through the tail-wagging good times and snuggled with you during the tough ones.

So why wouldn’t they deserve a frame-worthy portrait?

Summertime is the best time for capturing photos of your furry friends.

I’ve been capturing candid, soulful, joy-filled moments for decades now, and pets are hands-down some of the best subjects out there. They're honest, expressive, and totally themselves.

Whether your pup is a goofy ball of energy, a wise old soul, or somewhere in between, we’ll work together to get photos that feel just right. Outdoors, in your home, at a favorite park—wherever they’re happiest.

And yes, I actually love slobbery kisses and always carry treats in my camera bag.

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH

Though May was Mental Health Awareness Month, advocating for folks’ wellness is a priority for me year-round.

Back in February, I had the privilege of volunteering with Serve Marketing, a nonprofit that partners with AmeriCorps volunteers and community organizations to tackle some of Wisconsin's toughest challenges: educational achievement, economic opportunity, health access, the unhoused community, runaway youth, and more. It's the kind of work that reminds you how much showing up for people actually matters.

While I was there, I worked alongside a group of Milwaukee teens who created a PSA for Serve Marketing with the assistance of Circle Pictures, and it is genuinely impressive. These students should be so proud of themselves. I know I was proud just being in the room with them!

The PSA is part of the 1More Campaign, a call to action for schools, families, friends, and the broader community to stop waiting for a crisis and start showing up earlier. Too many young people across Milwaukee are quietly carrying anxiety, depression, isolation, grief, and pressure, often while pretending they're totally fine. Mental health support starts with connection. Sometimes just one more person showing up makes all the difference.

Now, about Circle Pictures: This woman-owned business was created by Sue Karpfinger, my mentor and boss for most of my location scouting career. She is someone I am deeply grateful for. She became a fast friend early on, came from a family of 8, and has included me in family gatherings over the years. It's a special kind of relationship that not everyone gets to have with a boss or mentor, and I don't take it lightly. At the 2026 Diversity Scholarship Fundraiser & Volunteer Awards, Sue was honored with a Lifetime Service Award alongside two other incredible recipients. It couldn't have happened to a more deserving human.

Okay, why was I dressed as an orange cone, you ask?

Well…

#1: I am a sucker for a silly costume.

#2: Serve's brand color is orange, and they were giving out awards for best dressed in orange.

#3: I had the PERFECT costume just sitting at home, so obviously I needed to put it to use!

As a location scout, I'm literally the person on set directing the crew where to park and putting out orange cones for spots that are off-limits, so it felt very on-brand. I bought that ridiculous outfit a few months ago, and when this event came up I was like, “Hey, I've got the perfect orange get-up!”

In all seriousness, if you ever need to talk, please don't hesitate to reach out.

You are not alone.

ART IN THE WILD

Thomas Dambo

Although I’m a photographer, I appreciate and support the arts in all forms. I’m thrilled that my city, Wauwatosa, has some awesome new installations from Danish artist Thomas Dambo. Kenosha and Pleasant Prairie are up next for these art pieces.

Find out more about the Mama Rosa sculptures from Thomas Dambo at Firefly Grove Park here.

Jeremy Novy

I recently took a stencil workshop with Jeremy Novy, and it was incredible. It was an intimate group with great vibes, and I walked away with my very own sweet little robot!

If you don't know Jeremy, he's a Milwaukee-born street artist with a seriously impressive resume. From his mural at Black Cat Alley to current gallery representation in Chicago, LA, and San Francisco, he is the perfect person to inspire other artists.

I love taking workshops just to be around other creatives and soak up something new. It’s never a bad thing to learn a new skill, and you never know when it might come in handy. This one was absolutely worth it.

SUMMERTIME SCOUTING IS HERE

Warmer months mean sunny conditions for discovering new locations. Longer days stretch available shooting windows, bright skies reveal how natural light actually behaves across a space, and Wisconsin transforms into something worth exploring every corner of.

If you know somewhere that truly comes alive in the summertime, whether a sun-drenched field, an old barn, or any other architectural gem, I want to hear about it!

Thank you so much for taking a moment to sit and stay. Hopefully, this gave you something to smile about today!
