Celebrating Women's History Month!

The month of March is important to me. It’s Women’s History Month—one that I love to celebrate. My Women’s Work series has been my passion for the past few years, and I have been overwhelmed with gratitude at the support and recognition that this project has received.

When I was in my teens, I was inspired by my mom, Maggie, a single parent. She started her business, MAR Lighting, after learning and honing her skills as a sales rep for a company based in Fargo, North Dakota, in the early nineties. She was one of only three other women in a company of over 300 employees, and was their top salesperson at 100% commission! The product was lighting for commercial use. After a few years, she opened her own successful business and managed it for 25 years.

I'm passionate about highlighting trailblazers in all fields who function as role models for the next generation.

If you’re a woman working as an engineer, scientist, lawyer, in tech, as a police officer, prison guard, detective, electrician, or truck driver, please reach out! I want to continue expanding this project and celebrate all females working across these industries.

The PhotograpHers Group

About a year ago, my friend and fellow photographer Deni Storm and I started a group of female photographers that we knew in the city. We ended up naming this community of women the PhotograpHers, and created a tight-knit bond of females that get together to share tips, life experiences, and learn from one another.

We are so grateful to have a close network of other women solopreneurs that support one another!

Are you a photographer looking for someone to bounce ideas off of? Feel free to reach out! I’m always happy to support anyone just starting out behind the lens.

creative playground recap

I recently had the true privilege of co-chairing Wisconsin Craft’s “Creative Playground” art show alongside my longtime friend and fellow artist Roxane Mayeur. Held at the Alverno Art and Cultures Gallery, this show included a general exhibition viewing, a hands-on community collage project, and an incredible artist panel.

We were blown away at not only the turnout but also the recognition we received after the opening. Roxane and I were featured on local Fox 6 News during their “Real Milwaukee” feature! View the interview here.

Check out this recap reel to see footage from the event!

Didn’t make it to the opening? No problem! Make sure to stop in between now and March 6th to see the exhibit.

upcoming art shows

I’m excited to announce that my Women’s Work series will be hung in the lobby of the Oconomowoc Arts Center from April 11th through May 15th!

The Oconomowoc Arts Center’s mission is to provide patrons and artists of all ages with a professional, cultural, and educational experience with the highest quality programming opportunities possible.

Come check out this work and join me in celebrating the significant and crucial contributions of women in male-dominated fields.

641 E Forest St | Oconomowoc, Wisconsin

let me scout it out!

Besides photography, I'm part detective and part dot connector, locating and securing ideal locations for national commercials, print, and video production.

For over 25 years, I’ve scouted all over the state of Wisconsin, looking for lake homes, parks, farms, offices, homes of all sizes, roads, and any other requests that come in.

I revel in the quirky and interesting people, places, and things, and love the challenge of delivering the perfect location to the client.

If you have a space that feels camera-ready, I’d love to hear about it!

Thank you so much for taking a moment to sit and stay. Hopefully, this gave you something to smile about today!
